I know the last thing you would expect to read on a spiritual journey site is a blog about a drag queen who recently shook the drag world, but, seriously, BenDeLaCreme (“DeLa if you’re nasty”) is the EPITOME of what we are all striving for in our ascension process. DeLa describes herself as “Terminally Delightful,” and even though she admittedly struggles with depression, she truly IS as delightful as the sweet cream in your café au lait.
Here’s why both actor Benjamin Putnam (the man behind the legendary queen) and DeLa are serving the ideal energetic example for the current ascension trip:
Ben describes himself as the man with whom DeLa shares a physical body. Even though they are one heart/one soul, together they showcase the Divine Masculine (thinking) and Divine Feminine (feeling) in the most illustrative way. If you watch this season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3, you will immediately recognize this perfect balance in BenDeLaCreme’s performance – as both a contestant and a fine human being.
In the work room, all of the queens are dressed as their regular selves, which can be anywhere on the gender expression spectrum from pink to blue and every shade in between. When it comes to gender identity and expression, there is no limitation or polarization in this room, which is both refreshing, not to mention fabulous. And the work room is where all the prepping, planning and calculating happens. It is a reality show competition, after all. What makes the All Stars competition different than Drag Race is that the top two queens have to eliminate “the weakest link,” and BenDeLaCreme, being the perfect balance of Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine energy, illustrates this balance quite clearly through conversation with the other queens on what is the fairest way to make that decision. This is how a healthy balanced Divine Masculine energy behaves.
Let’s break it down.
Divine Masculine energy (we all have it, regardless of our biological gender) is healthy and balanced thinking, logic and analyses that leads us to compassionate solutions that benefit everyone.
Unbalanced Masculine energy is the polar opposite of the Divine Masculine, and it is what leads us to the unhealthy process of thinking and logic that leads to judgment and criticism of others. Unbalanced masculine energy values logic and knowledge over feelings and emotion.
Divine Feminine energy (yes, we all have this, as well, despite our biological gender) is our healthy and balanced emotional side that enables us to feel for others and act with compassion to help nurture one another. This is also our intuitive side.
Unbalanced Feminine energy is the polar opposite of the Divine Feminine, and it is what leads us to emotional paralysis. On the extreme side, it’s those days when we’re so hurt, angry, jealous or fearful that we can’t leave the house. On the lighter side, it’s allowing emotions and feelings to override logic and knowledge. It also may be taking care of everyone else before nurturing yourself, or making your feelings and emotions out to be more important than anyone else’s.
As we all know, balance is key in the ascension process. Accepting and owning the masculine and feminine energy within us and finding that Divine balance that makes us WHOLE is what we are all striving to do on our individual (and UNIQUE!) spiritual paths.
I’m not going to throw out any spoilers (even though they’re already all over social media) about All Stars 3. All I’m saying is, if you haven’t watched it, check it out (it airs Thursdays on VH1, and I’m sure there is SOME way you can watch the first few episodes to catch up; I purchased the show on Amazon Prime, myself, and it has been worth every penny).
Watch how BenDeLaCreme (now form-fittingly dubbed #BenDeLaChrist) behaves throughout this competition, and you will witness a stellar example of finely balanced Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine energy at work, as well as a bit of 5D “Christ Consciousness.”
The ultimate takeaway is that when we balance our divine thinking and feeling energies and lead with our hearts instead of our minds, everyone wins!
It’s the greatest drag parable ever! Enjoy!
